National Statistical Office rebasing inflation

The National Statistical Office (NSO) is in the process of rebasing the country's inflation from 2012
as base year to 2017.
The development will help Malawi's inflation to be more reflective of the situation on the ground.
The development comes at a time when the country's inflation has been sailing in single digits
since August 2017.
As of December 2017, inflation was recorded at 7.1 percent, down from
7.7 percent in November.
