$60 million tractor assembly plant set for Chipata – Zambia Daily Mail: "$60 million tractor assembly plant set for Chipata
January 31, 20181 Chipata
A BELARUS-BASED tractor manufacturing firm plans to set up an assembly plant to accelerate mechanised agriculture in Chipata with an initial investment of about US$60 million.
Eastern Province permanent secretary Chanda Kasolo said the tractor assembly plant to be established by Minsk Tractor Works will result in the up scaling of agriculture production in the province, which is second in agriculture production after Central Province.
The development will also boost revenue for the province through the export of tractors to neighbouring Malawi, Mozambique and other countries within the region."
