Perth-based uranium miner Paladin Energy believes it can control costs this financial year, after doubling its full-year loss to $US172 million ($166.5 million) to June 30.

In a statement to the ASX, managing director John Borshoff said in the coming year Paladin would finally operate without "distracting construction and commissioning activities"."
