Illovo Sugar (Malawi) Limited has committed K8 billion (about $20m) to capital projects in both agricultural and factory operations. This represents a 166 percent rise from last year’s K3 billion (about $7.5m).
Each year, the Malawi Stock Exchange (MSE)-listed sugar manufacturer budgets for capital expenditure across all its operations at both factories and estates (Nchalo and Dwangwa).
The money is used on a range of things including the replacement of equipment in both agriculture and factory operations"
